On my second day in Athens, we decided to go to the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill, and see lots and lots of ruins and temples!
The weather was beautiful too! We stopped and grabbed sandwiches for breakfast/lunch and headed down to the subway to catch our morning ride...
There's my good lookin' guy ready for the day =D
Which big kudos to him because he is cooking us dinner right now (beer battered fish and homemade french fries!) so that I can catch up on my blog and finish off these Spring break posts! What a guy =)

Below are some photographs of the stage and seating that is currently left. The chairs in the first rows were for the people with the up-most authority and have engravings on them marking who's seats they belonged too.

We continued to climb and climb up to the top of the Acropolis, getting a better view of the city each step we took.

I loveee the composition the density of all of the buildings create when you are able to view the city from above! It's so interesting I think.

The following are photos of the Propylaea, and of the Athena Nike Temple..

Me and Drew in front of it!!! =D

The caryatids!

After we spent a handful of hours experiencing the Acropolis we continued on our way to explore the rest of the city, slowly but surely making our way to the Hill.

Before we got the the Hill "Mount" we stopped by the Olympic Stadium...

I love when you can see the rays of sun shining through the clouds. It makes me smile so much and to me, it is the most distinct and visible sign that God is right there with me. I had to snap a photo of it of course!

Since it was on the way, we also changed our route from the side walk, to this large garden for a change in scenery. When walking out from the park back onto the side walk, we saw some soldiers marching! I couldn't get my camera out quick enough to get a good picture, but I was able to snap one of their backs at least! Also, on the way I stopped into a shop with clothes, accessories, etc, and it was soo unique, and completely my style! Too bad everything was wayyy to expensive, boo =/ but I took a photo from the outside anyways.

Then after walking for what seemed like forever!...We made it! Well, to the bottom of the hill at least. Little did we know how much climbing was to come!

Although I must say I was quite skeptical of climbing to top, of course because I am afraid of heights! But I really wanted to do it. It was fine at first, just this uphill path through lots of trees and plant life. But then of course the higher we got the more open the path was, on the edge! So it was a little nerve racking, but Drew was there to keep me safe of course. He was a sweetheart and walked on the path towards the outside to let me be as close to the inside as I could be haha.

Climbing this was honestly one of my favorite parts of my Spring break. The view was absolutely break taking, and walking further and further up just was such an incredible experience. When we were up at the top it really just hit me what an amazing opportunity this whole trip I has been. I just could not believe that I was there at that moment, seeing what I was seeing. It was truly incredible and I was sooo thankful for all of this at that very second.

<3>

The sun set as we walked back to our hostel. And we just grabbed some quick things for dinner to save some monies of course. We had to get up super early to catch our flight to Berlin so we did stay up too late. We both took showers, made sure we were packed, and I did some banking while Drew goofed around taking pictures =P

And that ends our amazing time in Greece!!
Perfect timing too, because just as I am finishing these last few sentences Drew walked in with our dinner finished!
Time to eat!
Hopefully I will be back to finish off the Berlin posts, in between dinner and watching Rushmore with Drew!
