Good evening everyone =) Lets see, I have been quite busy this week. I think I will only be able to post about once a week, and Sundays look to be the day that this will be happening most often. But as for this past week... We had group presentations on Thursday and my group kicked butt! But we worked hard for it though so we were happy. Here are some pictures of us working and I sketch I did =)

I didn't really take any pictures during the week. Just in the architecture building a lot, and many days I didn't even have my camera with me just because it was too much to carry.

But Thursday we presented, and then one of our partners, Bart, was planning to go out to this Polish restaurant that is veryy inexpensive and has real good homemade Polish food. Drew and I had mentioned the other day how we really wanted to go somewhere to get good Polish food, and he had mentioned this place, then ended up inviting us to come along with him!
We all ordered a big bowl of his favorite soup there, he didn't even know how to translate what was in it or what it would be called in America, but either way it was absolutely delicious. It was flavorful and filling and had a boiled egg in it! Then he ordered for us and I got basically what ended up being stuffed cabbage with minced meat, and drew got turkey covered in bread crumbs. And we both got garlic spinach and this side that was similar to rice, but it had minced onions and other things. All in all it was very yummy and we walked around a bit with Bart then split ways.

On the way back to the dorms I stopped into Rossman's to get some hair dye. My roots were looking terrible!! Too bad everything was in Polish so I just had to go with it. I was hoping once I opened the kit that there would be a part with some English directions, but I was wrong haha. Luckily I have dyed my hair a dozen times so I was able to figure it out and it looks fine!

The same night (Thursday) Drew and I finally booked our Spring Break trip!! =) We have yet to book the hostels but that will be tonight or tomorrow.

We will be traveling to:
Athens, Greece
Rome, Italy
Barcelona, Spain
Berlin, Germany

!!!!

I'm veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy excited! There is just so many architecturally significant things to see in all of those places and it will just be fantastic! It is actually very exciting because the Berlin trip is a class trip. Our professors will be joining us, as well as all of the Polish students! We all (the Americans) are doing different things for the 8 days before, then we will spend 4 days in Berlin. =)

But as for this weekend, as you know I had plans to go to Stockholm! I can honestly say I think this weekend was the best one in Europe so far! It was me, Drew, Katie, and Sean who went and it was suchhhh a good time!!! We saw so many things and just explored all over the city.

The first day we got there was on Friday, we just got to the hotel (it was cheaper to stay in this nice hotel rather than a hostel!!) and then we ventured out but agreed that we just wanted to explore the city for the first night, then actually plan our day with things we were interested in seeing for the second day.

We visited Old town, the Royal Palace, the waterfront, we got a 72 hour mass transit card so we road the trams all over the city and took the buses. The tram stops in Stockholm are all very unique and have art installations and art on the walls. We stopped in a few unique cafes, souvenir shops, pubs, and a few clothing stores. It was very cold the whole weekend, but the sun was shining for us everyday so it made it so beautiful and enjoyable! We also went to Gunner Asplund's Cemetery he designed. Even though it was cold and snowy it was still as beautiful as ever. We couldn't have planned it any better either because we were walking through the beautiful landscape just as the sun was setting.

The hotel we stayed at was actually right across from the worlds largest ikea. We didn't actually go in though, we wanted to see everything else instead. The hotel though had a free complimentary breakfast, but it was so very abundant in fresh bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, dried fruit (which I was really excited for because I have been craving it and unable to find it anywhere here!!) Hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, organic apple sauce. It was soooooo great!! So we woke up both days and dragged ourselves down there to eat all that we were able to try to save money on meals for the rest of the day!

Another side note about the hotel, the room actually had a tv in it, which our dorms in Warsaw definitely don't have. And I haven't minded not having one, however when we got back to the hotel quite late it was just relaxing to turn on the tv while winding down.

Also, the airport that we flew in to was actually like an hour from the heart of Stockholm, so we had to ride a bus there and back. It's cheaper to fly through the airline that don't arrive right in the heart of popular cities, it stinks to waist time getting there. But we didn't regret it at all because we were able to see some beautiful landscape and different parts of the city! I'm looking forward to being able to do that in every place we travel to!!

I've just realized I have written quite a lot so far though, so now I will wrap it up and end with some pictures from the weekend =) If you have any questions what they are of just comment and I will respond!

Enjoy! Have a wonderful night!

Our Hotel room!...

(I found a cute little vintage shop in old town!!)

(Some art at the tram stops....)

(The tram stop below was the most unique and crazy!! Awesome art, but THE LONGEST ESCALATOR EVER!!)

(Me and Katie =D )

(haha)

(haha he wasn't listening to me)

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND IN STOCKHOLM!

Then we got back to Warsaw and it was snowing the largest flakes I've ever seen!! (The pictures don't do them justice.)

Goodnight!
